The Scoop on the Creekside Scoop

In 2017 on a stormy, yet beautiful day in June, we said our last goodbye to Dale’s dad, Al Ripp. Literally thousands of people lined up to pay their respects in the pouring down rain, however, when the skies cleared, the most magnificent rainbow spread across a blue Wisconsin sky.

And while this was obviously a “sign from above”, it was the months (and years) of rainbows that followed that took (and continue to take) our breath away. Seemingly every few days in the summer of '17, our family would run from window to window and around the yard grabbing pictures and standing in awe and disbelief at these colorful stripes of "I'm still here with you". Needless to say, whenever we see a rainbow, we’re reminded of how lucky we are to have the invaluable reminder that he’s always with us.

And he has been. Through it all.

While he might be upstairs shaking his head at our crazy adventures, he would have just laughed, shrugged his shoulders and picked up a hammer to help us.

Because of that, we wanted to honor him by opening something he’d love...and with that notorious Ripp sweet tooth, he LOVED ice cream.

So, that’s the scoop...The Creekside Scoop located at 2020 Main Street, Cross Plains, Wisconsin.

The Creekside Scoop will serve ice cream and ice cream treats, shakes and floats, old-fashioned candy and confections, root beer (and real beer) on tap and provide a space for kids’ birthday parties. And much, much more.

Al loved his family most of all. Community, neighbors and friends came in a close second. We hope that you and your families enjoy this place as much as our family enjoys honoring his legacy by having the opportunity to provide it.

Stay tuned.

Much love,

Katy, Dale, Miles & Madeline Ripp 🌈
